Kevin Day is founder and principal of Day & Associates, a San Francisco Bay Area executive search firm serving a range of clients in the healthcare segment, from Fortune 500 companies to start-up ventures. The firm’s assignments cover the full range of senior management and board functions. Kevin’s career began in the labs of G. D. Searle, as a graduate fellow in R&D, and progressed to general manager responsibilities for Abbott Labs. Subsequently, he held senior management responsibilities for Cooper Vision International. Kevin was also the founder and CEO of DR Labs, a device-based start-up company, where he arranged several rounds of financing, as well as managed investment transactions to fund development programs (Stanford and UCSF) and new product introductions.

Kevin’s 25 years of healthcare experience as a line manager and in organization development make him a sought-after advisor to companies not only in the area of executive search, but on strategic, organizational, and business development issues. He has either managed or recruited for every major function within healthcare organizations.

Kevin’s articles on leadership, executive recruiting and retention, and board governance have appeared in Pharmaceutical Executive magazine and in a Day & Associates’ Position Paper. He is frequently quoted in newspapers and business publications on topics ranging from talent shortages and changing workforce demographics to trends in executive search. He is also a sought-after speaker on such topics as The Evolving Role of Healthcare Leadership, and The State of Executive Search.

Kevin holds an M.A. in organizational development from Antioch University and a B.S. in business administration from Rider University. He is a member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is also currently chairman of the American Association of Search Executives (AESC) membership committee and is a founding member of the Conscientia Group. Kevin is married to Joan Day, who is president of Promedica, a leading healthcare marketing research company. Kevin and his family reside in Hillsborough, CA, where they are active community members.
