Kevin is Founder and Principal of Day & Associates, bringing 30+ years of experience in line management and organizational development for life sciences companies to retained executive search.
Prior to founding Day & Associates in 1997, Kevin was founder and CEO of DR Labs, a device-based start-up company where he arranged several rounds of financing, managed investment transaction development programs (Stanford and UCSF) and successfully out-licensed the asset to a major US pharmaceutical company. Prior to DR Labs, Kevin held the position as Vice President, International Business Development and Marketing for Cooper Companies where he was responsible for in-licensing and integration of key acquisitions. Prior to Cooper, he was General Manager of the Caribbean Affiliate/Latin American Region for Abbott Labs. Kevin began his career in the labs at G.D. Searle (now Pfizer) as a graduate fellow in R&D.
Kevin’s articles on leadership, executive recruiting & retention and board governance have appeared in Pharmaceutical Executive magazine, and The Economist has named Day & Associates among top boutique retained executive search firms in global pharma, life sciences and biotech. Kevin is a member of the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) and a founding member of the Panorama Group Health Care Global Practice Group, a partnership of leading executive search firms worldwide.
Kevin holds an M.A. in Organizational Development from Antioch University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Rider University.
Joan Day

Joan brings 30+ years of experience in new product planning for life sciences companies to her role with Day & Associates.
In 1984, Joan co-founded Promedica, Inc., a healthcare market research firm acquired by Cello Health in 2014. Under her leadership as President of Promedica, the company was named to the San Francisco Business Times list of Top 100 Women-Owned Businesses and Inc. magazine’s 5000 list of fastest growing US private companies.
Prior to Promedica, Joan was Director, Market Research at Searle Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer) where her department was responsible for in-line product launch and lifecycle management, pipeline products and in-licensing. Joan also served as market research liaison to corporate global partnerships. Prior to Searle, she began her market research career at The Quaker Oats Company.
Joan holds an M.S. in Advertising from Northwestern University and a B.A. in French from Rider University, with studies at l’Université de Franche-Comté, Besançon, France. She is an elected member of the YWCA National Academy of Women Leaders.
Stephanie MacDonald

Stephanie MacDonald brings to Day & Associates more than 20 years of experience in executive search. She has successfully recruited top talent for publicly held, venture-funded, and privately held companies at many levels, including CEO, president, vice president, general manager, and director. Stephanie’s experience cuts across many industries: biotech, life sciences, medical device, pharmaceutical, technology, engineering & construction, energy, infrastructure, and consumer/retail. Previously, Stephanie worked as a search consultant for the retained executive search firms of Kors Marlar Savage & Associates in Los Angeles, Nadzam Lusk & Associates in Santa Clara, CA and Splaine & Associates in Los Gatos, CA. She holds a B.S. in communication studies from UCLA. Stephanie and her family reside in the Temecula Valley, in the heart of California’s South Coast wine region.
Fran Yamamoto Administrative Assistant
Fran has been with Day and Associates since summer of 2012 and has been a tremendous asset to our team. She sources candidates, maintains our database and contributes to project management. Before starting with Day and Associates, Fran was the Manager of Human Resources at Applied Graphic Technologies and Magically, Inc. and the Sr. Staffing Specialist for Stansbury Staffing. She is adept at juggling multiple tasks and priorities, and is a team player devoted to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction. She lives in Foster City with her husband and holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Massachusetts.
